What are the signs of a bad alternator?
Common signs include the red battery warning light on the dash, dim headlights, electrical issues (like slow power windows), or the car stalling while driving.
Can I drive with a bad alternator?
We strongly advise against it. Your car will eventually run out of battery power and die suddenly, which can be dangerous in traffic.
Do you replace the drive belt too?
Yes, since the drive belt (serpentine belt) has to be removed to replace the alternator, we inspect it and will recommend replacing it if it is cracked or worn.
